This year, the words ‘summer’ and ‘Amsterdam’ really don’t belong in the same sentence.
I recently read that while we can’t control our feelings directly, we can control our actions, which in turn can influence our mood. So, in an effort to get into the spirit of this so-called summer, I pop a vitamin D pill, throw on some shades, and pretend the sun exists.
But that delusion usually crumbles the moment I have to pick an outfit. My usual no-brainer combo of mesh sandals, jeans, and a simple top has betrayed me more times than I’d like to admit. I’ve stepped in way too many puddles while clinging to the fantasy of 25 degrees and sunshine. So this year, I’ve made a new addition to my personal in-list: boots all year round.
Not only do boots go with pretty much everything, but they don’t flop in any scenario unless there’s an actual (and let’s be honest, unlikely) heatwave. Muddy festivals, rainy bike rides, or just needing to stomp through life: boots are almost always the right choice.

Turns out I’m not the only one committing to boots year-round. Red Wing has been doing it since 1905, and in Amsterdam for the past 15 years!
Red Wing Amsterdam has spent more than a decade offering not just durable, timeless boots, but also warm service and a deep-rooted sense of craft. To mark this milestone, they released a limited-edition Confetti Moc Toe on July 24: a playful spin on their iconic style, featuring light pink leather, splashed with a colorful confetti print.
The Red Wing Confetti Moc Toe is now available online and in-store exclusively at Red Wing Amsterdam. Limited pairs only!
