For those who know us, or more specifically our coffee and matcha guide, you’re no stranger to YUSU. It’s the extended living room of every 18 to 25-year-old within a 10 kilometer radius of Amsterdam East. And honestly, who can blame us? Good vibes, better coffee, those dangerously perfect little sweet treats, and their signature lilies. It’s where procrastination turns into community and community turns into regulars.
Now, YUSU is doing what it does best. Bringing us joy. But this time, at an altitude.
To celebrate 10 years of easyJet’s base at Schiphol, the UK airline has teamed up with Amsterdam’s favorite café to release something unexpected: a limited edition Flying Cake. It’s exactly what it sounds like. A cake that’s basically edible escapism, designed to taste like a holiday before you even board the plane.
The sponge is airy, almost cloud like, and the flavor profile reads like a passport stamp collection. Warm Moroccan spices like turmeric and cinnamon reflect the community’s most voted destination, Marrakech. There’s a sharp lemon curd center as a nod to London, and a soft orange meringue topping with a hint of Greek honey, inspired by Corfu. The result is a soft takeoff for your taste buds, wrapped in the kind of flavor logic only YUSU’s Nicole Lieuw could dream up.

But this isn’t just a very aesthetic dessert. Each Flying Cake comes with a raffle number, and on April 10 at 16:00, YUSU will go live on Instagram Stories to randomly select 10 winners. The prize? A pair of flight tickets to one of easyJet’s 38 destinations and a suitcase full of curated travel goodies. This cake might actually take you places.
Beyond the vibes and the visuals, there’s more to love. All proceeds from the Flying Cake go directly to UNICEF, easyJet’s long standing charity partner.
The Flying Cake is available April 5 to 10 exclusively at YUSU. Limited quantities, so don’t linger. It’s sweet, it’s airy, it gives back, and it might just get you out of the country.
