To celebrate Birkenstock’s first-ever store opening in Amsterdam in December 2024, we collaborated on a special community evening, coupled with a media partnership, right before the store opened its doors to the wider public.
It was a true celebration, as nature intended. The store was draped in festive floral installations by Rae Blooms, and attendees sipped on bubbles as they chatted and browsed away. As no celebration is ever complete without cake, Oficina made sure to fill the space with a vast array of delightful sweet treats. Amsterdam-based multidisciplinary design studio Deparel designed special knit garments for the occasion, gifted to the attendees along with other BIRKENSTOCK goodies.
In the lead-up to the evening, we published a bespoke feature article guiding Aa readers through BIRKENSTOCK’s history and exploring how the brand has cemented itself as an embodiment of effortless cool.
Of course, an Aa Magazine community evening wouldn’t be complete without a touch of playful spirit. To celebrate BIRKENSTOCK’s ethos of “Walking as nature intended,” we introduced an interactive activity: a map of Amsterdam where guests were invited to pin their favorite spots, walking routes, and itineraries. The final map was later shared on Instagram.
