What to do this weekend in Amsterdam: July 17 – July 19

Need plans for this weekend? Our selection on what to do and where to go from July 17th – 19th in Amsterdam

The city has traded survival mode for something considerably softer. 20 degrees, golden evenings, and enough breeze to justify bringing a light jacket you’ll spend the rest of the night carrying over your arm.

Now, whether you believe Mercury is ruining your life or think astrology belongs exclusively in the notes app of the person you’re dating, Cancer season does seem to have a funny effect on people. Everyone’s suddenly calling their mum. Dinner has become the preferred form of socialising. Friends are introducing each other to friends. The group chat has gone from “who’s out?” to “whose balcony are we ending up on?” Nostalgia is running high, people are making playlists instead of mood boards, and there is a collective urge to romanticise absolutely everything.

Fortunately, the weather is finally encouraging this behaviour.

The city’s cultural calendar remains gloriously overbooked. Music, parties, dinners, pop-ups and enough reasons to accidentally miss the last tram home.

Bring a jumper you’ll probably never wear, keep your plans flexible, and leave enough room for a healthy amount of serendipity.

As always, we’ve rounded up everything worth getting up to.
