Friendbook 19: Kenneth Aidoo

For the 19th entry in the Aa Friendbook, we caught up with Amsterdam-based artist Kenneth Aidoo.

For this installment of the Friendbook, we had the pleasure of chatting with multifaceted artist Kenneth Aidoo.

Kenneth studied VAV at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie and Film at The Netherlands Film Academy, both in Amsterdam. His work spans various disciplines, each offering a unique lens to explore and discuss the experiences of being of African descent.

Through his video installations, Kenneth delves into the complexities of shared histories and heritage within the African diaspora. His painted portraits spotlight often-overlooked diasporic narratives, fostering a deeper understanding of these stories. This historical reckoning underscores his belief that the erasure of history is untenable—and must never be overlooked.
