The whispers are becoming shouts, October is upon us and one of Amsterdam’s most important annual rites of passage is just around the corner. Yes, Amsterdam Dance Event is back, and with it comes the yearly tradition of sacrificing our sleep schedules, financial stability and, quite possibly, our hearing. All in the name of culture, of course.
Celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, ADE is taking over the city with more than 1,300 events, enough to induce a full fledged existential crisis over where to go, who to see and how on earth to fit it all in.
Fortunately, we’ve done the homework for you. From sweaty dance floors and all night extravaganzas to exhibitions, listening sessions, workshops and the occasional opportunity to sit down, we’ve rounded up our picks for the five days ahead.
Consider this your ADE cheat sheet. Save it, share it with the group chat and remember, you cannot be everywhere at once. Although we certainly encourage you to try.
