What to do this weekend in Amsterdam: February 06–February 08

What to do in Amsterdam this weekend from February 6 to February 8.

Hey hey hey, its February. Congratulations you’ve officially survived 1 out of 12 months. Huge.

It’s the weekend. Exhale. Whether you’re currently being held hostage by the claws of capitalism, already ready to tap out now that uni is back in session, or simply feeling the collective morale dip thanks to the political and economic state of the world, remember this: the joy is still ours.

So if you’ve managed to carve out a moment (or two) for yourself over the next couple of days, here’s what we’re looking forward to this weekend. A cute little mix of where to eat, where to dance , and to get cultured enough to feel like a functioning member of society again.

Friday 06/02

Launch of Interwoven Histories: Contemporary Art, Migratory Narratives and Textiles

In Interwoven Histories: Contemporary Art, Migratory Narratives and Textiles, curator and researcher Christel Vesters does a deep dive into the interconnectedness of the subject matter and sheds a light on the migratory stories that are often marginalised, ignored or forgotton. Pass by for a Q&A with the author and to celebrate this piece of work.

Fusion done right. Korean tacos? Let’s say we are intrigued to say the least. One thing we are sure of is that Nikotin per usual does it right. So head over on Sunday for tacos, kimchi and mouthwatering Barbacoa.

With Lab111’s Film & Food series, they bring together two of life’s greatest joys: movies and shared food. This edition features the screenings of Cidade de Deus and Central do Brasil with a family-style Brazilian dinner as the intermission.
