Amsterdam has entered that very specific time of year where the city collectively decides winter is over the second the temperature hits double digits. Sunglasses appear, terraces fill up, and everyone suddenly remembers they own a social life.
Of course, the wider world continues to deliver its usual mix of political theatre, alarming headlines and general end-of-times ambience. But if history has taught us anything, it is that culture persists. People still gather, bands still play, exhibitions open their doors, and someone somewhere is always throwing a party.
So consider this your nudge to step outside. This weekend brings a healthy mix of concerts, parties, exhibitions, good places to eat, and a few opportunities to part with your money in the name of shopping. A little culture, a little chaos, and hopefully a reason to leave the house.
