What to do this weekend in Amsterdam: April 3 – April 6

Looking for what to do in Amsterdam this weekend, April 3-6? Our guide rounds up the best parties, restaurants, and happenings over easter weekend.

First Weekend of April. Easter Weekend. Spring. Finally.

So the eternal question returns: what to do this weekend?

Yes, we did get you good with the April Fools earlier this week, but the real fools are the ones who scroll past posts like these. This city rewards those who pay attention to the little Easter eggs scattered across it.

The weekend is just around the corner (collective sigh of relief, we know). Everyone is preparing for the usual Easter rituals. Brunch tables turning into philosophical interrogation chambers, chocolate eggs being hidden in socially acceptable ways, and the collective prayer to the weather gods for maybe, just maybe, a bit of sun.

It’s also a long weekend, which means the offerings are even longer. The programming across the city this weekend alone could honestly sustain you for the rest of the month, but where’s the fun in pacing yourself? As one of you cleverly pointed out, at this point, the city is starting to feel less like Easter and more like ADE: Amsterdam Dancing Easter. Different time, same stamina required.

Friday kicks things off properly. New restaurant openings, parties lined up one after another. If we were you (which, in spirit, we are), we’d enter the weekend with a bang. Split the sea via ferry and head to Noord where a good dance floor is never too far away.

Saturday continues the momentum. If Jesus can resurrect on a Saturday evening, so can you. Tattoo Jam is happening for anyone feeling festive enough to commemorate the occasion permanently. Bunny? Egg? Your call. The party programming is strong again, both day and night options available for those who still want to appear alive and functioning at Sunday’s family obligations. Meanwhile, the first Easter menus are making their way across the city.

Sunday is reserved for indulgence. That can mean many things. For some, it’s eating their way through Amsterdam’s culinary scene. For others, it’s finding something spiritual on the dance floor. We sprinkled in a couple of proper weekenders for those leaning toward the latter.

Either way, we love you. Have a beautiful weekend. And happy Easter.
