First weekend of May. We made it.
We know a large portion of the city is currently laying low after last week’s King’s Day debauchery. Nervous systems recovering, bank accounts in shambles, everyone pretending they actually enjoyed standing shoulder to shoulder with 400 strangers near a canal for 9 hours straight.
And while we fully support staying in bed and ordering something greasy, may we gently remind you that there is still always a reason to leave the house. Better yet, you can even be outside and wholesome this weekend.
Spring has properly settled into the city now. The tote bags are out, people are reading books in parks they don’t fully understand, and suddenly everyone wants to “go on a walk” as if that wasn’t considered deeply offensive weather behaviour two months ago.
Luckily, the city is still very much alive. This weekend brings a healthy mix of cultural programming, good food, shopping, parties for those emotionally ready to return to the dancefloor, and slower moments for everyone else.
So whether you’re easing back into society carefully or jumping in head first, here’s what to do in Amsterdam this weekend.
See you out there.
