Music festivals to have on your radar this fall

Europe’s festival season is far from over. From experimental music and electronic sounds to jazz and everything in between, these are the best fall music festivals worth travelling for in 2026.

We have fallen. Summer is officially over and, with it, so is festival season. Or so you thought?

The tents have been packed away, the stacked wristbands have finally been cut off and dancing outside until the sun comes up has been replaced by dancing inside until, well, the sun comes up. Because while summer may get most of the attention, some of the most interesting festivals of the year are only just getting started.

As temperatures drop, festival season simply changes shape. Fields become former slaughterhouses (how romantic), churches, warehouses, clubs and concert halls. The programming gets a little stranger, the crowds a little more committed and suddenly travelling halfway across Europe to hear someone make noises you cannot quite identify feels like the perfect way to spend a weekend.

There is plenty worth travelling for. Unsound is splitting itself between Warsaw and Kraków this year, looking at soft power, geopolitical instability and algorithmic control through experimental sound. Utrecht’s Le Guess Who? continues to bring together music and communities from across the world, while Sheffield’s independently run No Bounds moves between raw industrial sounds, dub, UK bass and ambient experimentation. Closer to home, there is Amsterdam Dance Event and Supersonic Jazz, while further afield C2C and the wonderfully unpredictable Meakusma offer a good excuse to disappear for a few days.

So no, we are not going into hibernation just yet.

Consider this our shortlist of fall festivals worth leaving the house, the country and perhaps your comfort zone for. Some are big, some are tiny, some require a little planning and at least one may leave you wondering what exactly you just listened to.

Pack a sensible layer, invest in some earplugs and perhaps keep Monday morning free.
