What to do this weekend in Amsterdam: July 2 – July 5

Need plans for this weekend? Our selection on what to do and where to go from July 2nd – 5th in Amsterdam

The Aa Weather Report has officially returned to its regularly scheduled programming.

The apocalypse has been postponed, the temperature has dropped to something that can once again be described as “pleasant,” and Amsterdam collectively seems to have remembered how to function without carrying a portable fan everywhere. The city is still very much in summer mode, just with slightly less urgency and a significantly lower chance of accidentally frying your shoulders before lunch.

With the weather settling into that sweet spot, there are very few excuses to stay indoors. Parks are filling up, terraces remain impossible to walk past without a semi-accidental run-in, and every WhatsApp group appears to be organising three different plans at the exact same time. Whether any of those plans actually materialise is, as always, another question entirely.

The cultural calendar certainly isn’t taking the weekend off either. From parties and live music to exhibition openings, pop-ups, and enough reasons to leave the house that your bank account may start sending passive-aggressive notifications, the city is once again making a very convincing case for cancelling your Sunday reset.

So charge your camera, bring a layer for when the sun inevitably disappears the moment you commit to sitting outside, and don’t be surprised if your quick afternoon outing somehow turns into breakfast.

As always, we’ve rounded up everything worth getting up to.

Enjoy.
