If you’re still wondering what to do this weekend, we’ve got you covered. ASICS has taken over NDSM Loods with On The Move, a cloud-like dome designed by architecture and design practice CLOUD, sitting right on the waterfront and open to anyone who shows up. No tickets, no sign-up, just come as you are.
Inside, there will be a full programme going on. Try on the brand new ASICS SportStyle GEL-NYC 2.0 before it hits stores, play pétanque on the court, and grab a coffee. There is also a chance to win a pair of shoes over the weekend, so showing up early and staying a while is definitely not a bad idea.

The GEL-NYC 2.0 is worth getting your hands on early. ASICS’ latest evolution of the NYC franchise is built around Japanese craftsmanship and New York energy, updated with FF BLAST PLUS cushioning and GEL technology units that make it noticeably lighter and more responsive than the previous version. The kind of sneaker that works whether you are running errands or actually running. Trying it on inside a cloud dome at NDSM is, admittedly, a very specific way to find that out, but not a bad one.

After Amsterdam, On The Move travels to Berlin’s Tempelhof Park in late August, and then to the rooftop of Friche la Belle de Mai in Marseille in September. Amsterdam gets it first, and this weekend is the only chance to catch it here.
The GEL-NYC 2.0 will be available from 7 August through select retailers and ASICS channels. On The Move is at NDSM Loods, 8 and 9 August, 10:00 to 18:00. Free entry for all.
