The Upgraded Woman: Emerging choreographers showing their work this Sunday at Tobacco Theater.

This performance unfolds as a journey in two parts, asking: what remains of femininity when performativity dissolves?

We keep questioning: who is the upgraded woman, and what are her limits? Who are we capable of becoming when all that remains is space for transformation?

This work explores our relentless urge to continue, to want more, to push further, until we no longer recognize what we are moving toward. It examines urgency as a driving force and asks how far we are willing to go to reach our goals. Moving along the edges of identity and expectation, it searches for a way back, back to herself, back home.

Dancing with the womb as their central engine, four performers travel through seasons. In a world that feels broken into pieces, they attempt to reconnect, with one another, and most importantly, with themselves.

The Upgraded Woman is a double bill performance (1 hour) consisting of Part I: a brand new upgraded woman longing to feel as much as possible, and even more, at all times, whatever it takes — and Part II: Redefining The Upgraded Woman.

Tatiana Śpiewak and Sarah Zechut are freelance dance artists based in the Netherlands. Their collaboration explores transformation, urgency, and the evolving image of femininity. Their vision of a better world definitely contains more dance.
