Don’t bite the hand that feeds you. So you better listen to this. Per usual, we have been eating our way through Amsterdam so you don’t have to gamble your next dinner reservation. From new openings to old favourites, cocktails, comfort food, to desserts, every recommendation on this list has earned our full approval.
Consider this your culinary cheat sheet for the weeks to come. You are welcome.
Hamachi crudo at Taiko
Served with kohlrabi and dill. Equal parts elegant and refreshing, this flower-like crudo is almost too pretty to eat. Almost. We’d happily order it every single visit.

Negroni at Toscanini
Yes, we know. Getting a table at Toscanini is notoriously difficult, and for good reason. The pasta and antipasti are Amsterdam favourites and keep us coming back time and time again. But between us? The real reason we’re always willing to put down the plastic is their absolutely perfect Negroni.

Sanaa’s Kitchen Falafels and white cheese at Eurosoft
If you’ve never experienced an Egyptian breakfast, consider this your sign. Order the herby falafel, creamy white cheese with warm pita, a glass of hibiscus juice and, whatever you do, don’t skip the homemade pickles.

Supremacy at Advocatuur
Advocatuur has a rebellious streak, and it shows in every pour. Pineapple, kaffir lime, and just a hint of neroli come together in a cocktail that’s bright, fragrant, and just the right amount of unexpected.

Soft serve at Lait de Choco
Everything Amalia makes has a habit of disappearing remarkably quickly. This one layers creamy soft serve with a crisp chocolate shell, plenty of chocolate, and the unlikely combination of sesame oil and chili crisp. It shouldn’t work. It really, really does.

Ribeye at Stacks Diner
Our love for Stacks Diner is no secret by now. Their entrecôte with homemade chimichurri has been our must-order — until they welcomed their latest meaty addition into the family: a perfectly succulent ribeye steak, complemented by rosemary and crunchy hand-cut fries. Pair it with the pickle plate and a Caesar salad, and consider your order — and your iron levels — officially sorted.

Coffee Omakase at A Sense of Place
Coffee is the last thing that comes to mind when talking about omakase — so discovering A Sense of Place’s new Sunday morning ritual was quite a pleasant surprise. Imagined by master barista Lucas Hernandez, the ‘Beyond’ omakase is a multisensory experience composed of six courses, flowing from hand brews to cold brews, paired with unexpected little delicacies (like a crystal bread?), and accompanied by a thoughtfully curated playlist.

Chyrsant ice cream at cornerstore
One thing cornerstore has really nailed is their dessert. This season’s delight is a refreshing chrysanthemum ice cream, paired with a crunchy crumble and smooth peach purée. Best enjoyed by the listening bar with a glass of sake in hand.
